Ravi, please tell us about yourself.
My name is Ravi Sookhoo and I have been in the music industry for 20+ years. I am a music producer. I run my own Studio (N2 Studios) and band N2, which is currently based in Toronto. N2 has been a name recognized for many years, but is slowly making the transition to Ravi Sookhoo Music.
I have studied in Indian classical music under the renowned ghazal singer, Sudhir Narain of Agra, India. I have had the pleasure of accompanying several popular artists such as Anup Jalota, Hari Om Sharan, Vandana Bajpai, to name a few. Though I am trained in indian music, I come from an Indo- Caribbean background and grew up listening to everything from Bhajans and Bollywood, to Soca and Reggae.
My passion for this music eventually lead me to reside in sweet Trinidad and Tobago to fulfill my wishes of letting my music be heard. I began my musical career in Trinidad as a producer for the popular FM Studios. It was then I made my mark as a Chutney music producer, producing monster hits from that era. I was then introduced formerly to Anil Bheem and became a founding member of the band BMRZ, where I stayed until my move back to Toronto.
Amazing! What are you inspired by?
I base my musical foundation on the mere fact that I am of Indo-Caribbean heritage. I believe if you are blessed with the gift being a musician or artist, you should be able to use it for the good. Each time I sit in my studio, I think of the musical legacy I would want to leave behind for my sons to know, thus they are my inspiration. I am also inspired to have my music resonate across time and create memories.

Tell us about your hobbies outside of your work?
Running a studio and working in the IT field, usually entails me being placed behind a computer for most of the day. My hobbies include activities where I can usually enjoy the outdoors with my family. Road trips, fishing and hiking are usually weekly events in our home. I also spend whatever free time I may have designing and creating wood pieces with my son in our wood shoppe.
Is there anything you currently have in the works or any recent accomplishments you'd like to brief the audience about?
Ive had too many accomplishments over the years, too many to name. I also don't make a habbit of discussing my future projects or endeavors. I would say, just continue to follow the brand "Ravi Sookhoo Music" on Social Media, Youtube and in upcoming events.
